Posted on May 28 2018 - 7:45pm

The Troop 267 Rafting Trip is coming up June 23-24.  We will work on the kayak portion of Whitewater Merit Badge on Saturday, and the rafting portion on Sunday.  Scouts who only want to do the rafting can attend Sunday only, but will need to camp Saturday night at Coloma. On Sunday, Scouts age 12+ can go rafting on either the Middle Fork (Class IV) or the South Fork (Class III); this is an age requirement from American Whitewater Expeditions.  Scouts who are 10 or 11 years old can raft on the South Fork.  Rafting Sunday costs $50, and kayaking Saturday costs an additional $25; the Troop pays the rest.  Scouts interested in kayaking must also do the rafting, but Scouts who want to go rafting do not have to go kayaking.
